The restaurant's breakfast was the best we've had.

The Inn on the Blue Horizon was very relaxed and very private. The infinity pool is beautiful, the grounds too, overlooking the ocean were breath taking.
My husband and I came in to the beautiful bar one night at 10:00 pm. The bartender saw us and fled. A few minutes later she came back out visibly annoyed and asked us what we wanted, I asked if she was closed, she said she was but that "her boss was making her serve us." I told her we thought she was open until 10:30, she said, no, 10pm. We opted to skip the drink rather than sit there feeling like we'd inconvenienced the bartender. The irony is, her rudeness aside, there are about 10 signs around the hotel that say that the bar closes at 10:30pm. Put simply we didn't feel welcome, but like a burden. This was the same women who complained the next morning to us about her potential appendicitis. The second big thing was how overpriced everything here was. $30-$40 entrees at the restaurant had us eating out every night.

The views are very nice, and the infinity pool is awesome. Don't miss the local beaches, especially Atlantic Wind and Sun Bay-they're perfect for relaxation and surfing. Just a heads up, though, restaurant hours can be a bit tricky, so check ahead!
We did experience some frustration with staff responsiveness. It was tough getting timely service for our requests at times, which could be improved.

Gorgeous location and facilities. Very comfortable. Wonderful bar staff. Great location close to Esperanza and the sea. A nice romantic place to stay.
The shower temperature was very inconsistent. That was really the only complaint we had.

The cliffside location overlooking the Caribbean, the town of Esparanza and the nearby cayes was stunning. There's a relaxed, easy going feel with just the right amount of class and elegance in the lounge and restaurant area. The bed was very comfortable; we slept very well. The pool was beautiful.
We expected the room to be a little more upscale based upon what we read on the internet, but don't interpret this as a major problem. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We arrived on a Wednesday evening and had our first meal at the restaurant. The food was outstanding. On Saturday night, my husband ordered the meal I ordered on Wednesday and I ordered the same appetizer - not as good as Wednesday. Again, not a major problem. A shaded area near the pool would have been nice.

The atmosphere was relaxing, with fine views of the
Caribbean sea and a peaceful setting. The staff was friendly and helpful, but the service at the restaurant was slow at times, a bit frustrating given the fantastic meals we had.

The staff was friendly. The people at the front desk were very helpful and nice. The woman at the bar was also very friendly, but you had the feeling that she was overworked. She not only had to work the bar but wait tables the 2 night that we were there. As a result she was a bit harried and couldn't give the service that you would expect for the price of the hotel. The food was excellent and portion size was good, if not too much. The hotel has a lovely setting for anyone trying to get away from it all. We rented the Inn's Jeep and had a good self-tour of the island.
We got to our room and immediately noticed a foul odor. I finally found that someone had left a vase of water with rotting flower petals and leaves in it on the dresser. It stank, so I threw out the water and put the vase outside. Then the toilet backed up on the first use. (A plunger is provided in the closet.) The pool had a lovely setting but the water in the pool was cloudy. Some of the chair covers were worn and seams ripped. We went up to the balcony to watch the sunset and when we looked down there were cups and debris in the gutters. There had been a wedding the day before and that area was not cleaned up well. For this amount of money you would expect toilets to be tested for a backup, vases to be emptied, crystal clear pool water and cups picked up. They probably need to increase the number of people on staff.

The view, the staff, the location on the island. Did I mention the view?
This is minor stuff, but the bed seemed small, the toiletries and towels (both bath and pool) seemed a bit cheap for a place of this caliber. And the service at breakfast, while delightful, was slow. I need my coffee asap in the morning!

The physical situation and the grounds of the hotel were lovely. The staff were friendly, likeable and respectful of guest privacy.
The mattress was extremely old, creaky and uncomfortable. Impossible to sleep. The upholstered chairs in the room were filthy and needed to be discarded years ago. Towels were very small and poor quality. And the room smelled of damp.I was also very disappointed with the poor maintenance in the room, which I reported but was not resolved - a bathroom sink that wouldn't drain properly, burnt out light bulbs, a broken iron and other little but annoying issues that you would not expect to encounter in a hotel at this price.

amazing, amazing, amazing
The infinity pool was my little slice of heaven, offering jaw-dropping views of endless turquoise waters and lush greenery all around. I spent hours lounging poolside, soaking up the sun with native wildlife fluttering around. Plus, every morning started perfectly with a delicious breakfast that set the tone for our adventurous days ahead.
totally recommend 🥰✨

The rooms are very comfortable, the view is amazing. The breakfast is very tasty but also over priced.
The pool was beautiful but no shade was provided by the hotel making it difficult to use during peak sun times. The breakfast was over priced at $22 per person. Nothing seemed to get repaired around the hotel. The hotel was lacking the personal touch and someone with good guest relations.
